The Fredericksburg Christian School volleyball team went 3?1 in its invitational tournament, falling in the championship game.
The Eagles defeated Model (25?10, 25?12), Timothy Christian (25?6, 25?6) and Eastern Mennonite (27?25, 20?25, 15?13) before losing to Bishop Irenton (25-23, 24?16, 11?15).
The Eagles? outside hitter Gabby Vess and libero Rachel Evans were named to the all-tournament team
Fredericksburg Christian (4?2) hosts Evangel Christian on Monday.
CROSS COUNTRY
The Riverbend boys cross country team outpaced Midlothian to claim the championship division at the Pole Green Classic in Mechanicsville. Top runners were Will Young, Bruce Garth, Jacob O?Campo, Garrett Horne, Nate Lasker, Daniel Sequira, and Mason Mcmahon.
The Bears girls team?led by Casey Soper, Hanna Gardner, Taylor Brubaker, Kiley Steed, and Lauren Liberman?finished second in the championship division.
