A look at Egypt's presidential elections

Egypt will choose its first president after the popular uprising that forced Hosni Mubarak to step down last February. Voters are choosing between two candidates, the top vote getters in the first round that ended last month.

?The second round begins Saturday and ends Sunday. Polls open 0600GMT. Close at 1700GMT.

? More than 50 million out of 90 million are eligible to vote, including Egyptians abroad.

? There are over 13,000 polling centers nationwide.

? Nearly 46 percent of voters showed up in the first round, held May 16-17.

? Security has been beefed up around polling stations nationwide with more 400,000 soldiers? or more than the double of number of troops and police compared to last month's first-round deployed to secure voting day.

? Results are expected to start trickle in by Monday. The official announcement of a winner is June 21.
